Set Outgoing Email Profiles

Configure the email address that will appear in the FROM portion of the printer’s sent email message. You can connect up to 10 Profiles of Outgoing Addresses. To build those profiles you can use the HP program installed on your computer.

Add email addresses to the email address book

Control the list of people you can send out printer email messages to. Up to 15 email addresses can be added with their respective contact names. Also, you can build email classes. You will use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) printer to add email addresses.

Configure other email options

The default SUBJECT and body text that is used in all email messages sent from the printer may be changed. You must use the EWS printer to configure certain choices.

Step 1: Set up outgoing email profiles

Fill in the following steps for your operating system to set up the outgoing email profile used by the printer.

WINDOWS

Open Applications for HP Printer. See The Toolbox (Windows) for more detail.

  1. Double-click Scanner Behavior, then double-click Scan to Wizard Text ..
  2. Click New, and then follow the directions on-screen.

NOTE: Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) printer to add more outgoing email profiles, attach email addresses to the Email Address Book, and configure other email options after you set the Outgoing Email Profile. To automatically open the EWS, ensure the Launch embedded web server is selected on the last screen of the Scan to Email Wizard when the check box is done. When you press End, the EWS will show up in the default web browser of your computer. See Embedded Web server for more detail about the embedded Web server.

MAC OS X

Open HP Installation. See HP Utility (Mac OS X), for more detail.

2.Click Mail Check.

3.Follow the directions on-screen.

4.Upon entering the correct network folder information, click Save and Check to make sure that the network folder connection is working properly.

This entry is added to the list of Outgoing Email Profiles.

Installed Web server (EWS)

Open Web server (EWS) installed. See Embedded Web Server for more information.

2.Click the Outgoing Email Profiles button in the Setup box on the home page.

3.Click New, and then follow the directions on-screen.

4.Upon entering the correct network folder information, click Save and Check to make sure that the network folder connection is working properly. The entry is added to the List of Outgoing Email Profiles.

Step 2: Add email addresses to the email address book

Complete the following steps to add email addresses to the email address book:

  1. Open a Web Server (EWS) embedded. See Embedded Web Server for more information.

2.Please click Email Address Book on the Search page.

3.Click New to add only one e-mail address. -Or- Press Community to build a mailing list.

NOTE: You must have already added at least one email address to the Email Address Book before you can build an email distribution list.

  1. Follow guidance on-screen. Email Address Book is attached to the application.

NOTE: The names of contacts appear on the control panel monitor of the printer and in your email program.

Step 3: Configure other email options

Complete the following steps to configure other email options (such as configuring default SUBJECT and body text used in all email messages sent from the printer, as well as scanning settings used when sending email from the printer):

1.Open an embedded web server (EWS). See Embedded Web Server for more information.

2.Please click Email Options on the Search page.

3.Changing any settings, then clicking Add
